TOKYO MAY 2014 : Shibazakura Flower Festival

Last day in Tokyo we went to Lake Motosuko to witness Fuji Shibazakura Festival (Fuji Shibazakura Matsuri). The festival is usually held in mid-April to early-June at Lake Motosuko, one of Fuji Five Lakes.

It was about 3 hours driving from Tokyo.

Oops..

A glimpse of Fujiyama.

As soon as we arrived at Lake Motosuko, the weather changed. Fujiyama was obscured by the heavy cloud. We waited for the cloud to disappear but we were unlucky enough that Fujiyama didn't emerge. Sigh... :(

There are different types of Shibazakura. Further information about the flowers and the festival can be obtained in Shibazakura Festival.

Other flowers that happened to be there.

Check-in Haneda Airport.

Saying goodbye and see you again Tokyo. Mixed feelings.

It was time to catch the flight back to Kuala Lumpur. Traveling to Japan was such an eye and mind-opening experience. I did not have it enough and I craved for more!  Therefore, returning from Japan, I immediately planned for next trip which I decided to go to Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe in autumn. That I shall write in my next post. Till then, sayonara...!!
